How to tell which is your master socket?

If you are getting Sky to install the line I think you would have to ask them -I believe that BT charge up to £199 to carry out a job like that0

That looks like an NTE5 master socket to me -if so, it can be upgraded -but still don't think that they would do it UNLESS you come up with the shekels!!!0

So just a case of getting a new faceplate then with the 2 sockets on?brewerdave wrote: »That looks like an NTE5 master socket to me -if so, it can be upgraded -but still don't think that they would do it UNLESS you come up with the shekels!!!0 -
Get this one: http://www.telephone-wiring.co.uk/vdsl-bt-infinity-i-plate-665-p.asp the infinity i-plate. Don't confuse it with this one: http://www.telephone-wiring.co.uk/bt-i-plate-and-broadband-accelerator-93-p.asp, the i-plate broadband accelerator.JustAnotherSaver wrote: »So just a case of getting a new faceplate then with the 2 sockets on?
The recommended one has a single broadband socket, but you slip it behind the lower faceplate to keep the existing phone socket. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -
Sweet. Thanks.
Come to think of it, i'm sure i bought a new faceplate off eBay a few years ago for my parents house, which had both connections.0 -
Yes, there are still all of the 2 socket designs on the market. I would still go for the one I suggested. It is an entirely passive design, meaning it will last more or less for ever. And of course you still get the 2 sockets. You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0
