AV Sender

I have bought an AV sender to send my lounge Freeview signal to the bedroom and it works a treat without the need for trailing wires, etc.
However, to change channel, I need to bring my Freeview remote to bed with me. I wanted to buy a "one-for-all" style remote control, which I only needed to operate one thing (i.e. the Freeview box). On most of the remote controls, however, it seems to say that a single-operation "one-for-all" is only for a TV. Is this right or will it work for my Freeview alone?
