Tesco Cancelled on my iPad deal!

Hi,
I just placed an order with Tesco using their (current) tablet offer. The offer is £30 off if you spend over £300 with them. I ordered an iPad Mini 32GB + retina display for £399 as a present for my other half, with the £30 off it came to £369.
They sent me an email today (approx. 12 hours since ordering) saying
'We work hard to make sure we have no problems with our deliveries, but in this case we got it wrong. We will be refunding you for the iPad Mini with retina display. Sorry.'
Now the code will no longer work on their website when I try to re-purchase this product. I personally think they have decided to exclude this product from the deal. Can they legally do this? Can I force them to complete the transaction as they advertised the offer?
Hmphphphhhh. Not happy!
thanks

They can cancel the order up until it's deemed complete which for online purchases is usually despatch. Sorry, but I they've done nothing wrong here. Frustrating for you, I know."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

So retailers can advertise a deal and then pull it if they feel they aren't making enough cash? Doesn't seem fair to me - whatever happened to retailers having to honour advertised prices?0

I can't recall that they ever did (before a contract is formed)!
You need to find out why they are not fulfilling your order (actually ask, do not assume). If they have set out to mislead on a wide scale then Trading Standards may be interested, but if there has been a genuine error it is unlikely they would do anything.0 -
I think I would be miffed too. Was it this code:- TDX-KW3Q
If not why not give it a try.
Edit:- Or are they just out of stock?0 -
I suspect it's what Hintza's edit says, but that the email they sent you didn't go into specifics. if they've run out then there's not a lot you can do about it.0

Spot on Hintza - I've just checked and it says 'Sorry, this product is currently unavailable' - although the grey one is still available. OP, give them a call and see if they will honour the code on the different colour.
Edit: The code works for me?0 -
I agree you need to call them to sort it out, as far as the system is concerned you have already used the code and will not allow you to use again.0
