Momentum investing with funds is the strategy used by the Salty Dog Investor, they charge a hefty price for the service but claim that it has given outperformance for their various portfolios, either way their website has some interesting information. http://saltydoginvestor.com

I don't subscribe to their service myself, I much prefer a balanced pick of funds as I enjoy the research etc.
  • The salty dog investor sites seems to be doing what i'm trying to do- catch the wave moving in and out...at £25 a month, perhaps it's worth a trial!
The revolution is not an apple that falls when it is ripe. You have to make it fall.
  • OP said: "The strategy so far is working as I’m over 2k up on a 40k investment in 6 months."

Hmm, 5% in 6 months. Not bad but my UK index tracker fund is up over 23% in the past year. I didn't even have to try to second guess all those guys with Oxbridge degrees in the City working 24/7 to beat me.

The strategy would work for the website owner anyway. If it has 10,000 subscribers, it'll collect £250,000 per month in membership fees, invest this in his selections, email it's subscribers with the selection names and watch the price rise as the subscriber investments come pouring in.
