Lease or buy? New or used?
My wife drives a 57 plate VW Golf diesel. It was purchased used almost 3-years ago and now has about 110K on the clock and a few things have gone wrong recently that have cost more than I expected. Our little girl is 9-months old and travelling with the Golf can be difficult because of the boot space - once we get the pushchair in there is very little room for anything else. Therefore we have started looking to replace it.
We would like either an Audi Q3 or Q5 but they are expensive whichever way I look at them. New a Q3 is £30k+ and a Q5 about £35k+ so I don't think new paid outright is an option - finance maybe an option though. Used they still seem to hold their price; both being about £20k for a 2-year or less car with low(is) mileage.
I have looked at other cars that are 'similar' - VW Tiguan, Nissan Qashquai, Vauxhall Antara? But the build quality and 'feel' are just not the same, plus the boot space especially on the Q3 is excellent for what we need.
I have seen the case for and against leasing but I am leaning towards this as the best option? I'd appreciate peoples views and any tips?
