Ive assembled many beds and have yet to use a drill as all the holes are already pre drilled and its just a case of gluing dowel or using nuts/bolts/screws.
Warren Evans beds are not flat pack, self assembly. They are hand made and assembled on site.

Not really much difference. Either way the bed comes in bits and needs to be put together.

I would try to 'fluff' the 'burnt' areas up, maybe try gently brushing with a toothbrush?
Is it def. melted? From the pics the marks look like they're super-flattened areas but of course you can see and examine them better than we can.
Or yes, maybe glue rather than it having melted.
I'd be looking at experimenting with trying to remove it because glue smears could look and feel very similar to melted fibres:

The point I was making is these beds are not the self-assembly with a hex spanner type of thing.

My money is on it being glue. Ive got exactly the same thing on one of my carpets caused by my nephew 'borrowing' my superglue:cool: whilst I was out of the room. It looks just like a burn mark and dries hard.

customerclaims.co.uk could get you compensation to have the carpet in that room replaced, you will need quotes for the work and you will need to enter a claim under their faulty products area against the retailer not the delivery company.

How much is a replacement carpet?

In my opinion a reasonable person would look to establish two things:

is it reasonable to replace the whole carpet? if not then perhaps a minor settlement would be sufficient. If so, then....

what is the carpets life expectancy? if say 9 years, it's been down for 3 so they'd apportion costs in a way whereby you pay 1/3 of the new carpet.

But this mark, imo, doesn't seem to merit a new carpet and also doesn't really look like something a drill would do.
