Your appearance at the hearing would have made no difference if you owed 2 months rent.

Now you have a possession order granted and risk the bailiffs appearing. Priority should be to find somewhere else to live.

Sorry, I might be misunderstanding but I don't believe the court date has been held yet if the OP has only just received the section 8. After it expires the LL will apply for a court date which will be sent to the OP. See my previous post for the steps in the process.

OP, if you've just recieved the section 8 you don't have to move out at the expiry date. However when the court date arrives, if you still owe the LL 2 months of rent payments you will be evicted. There is virtually no defense against this. Can you pay the LL now? Is there a reason you are behind? Are you still within your fixed term of your contract?

I incline to agree that this is a real possibility. Some people do tend to confuse paperwork advising of court proceedings with a judgement.
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

@davie711, Can you confirm this is just the notice you are talking about or is it an actual possession order, the advice is going to vary depending on your answer.

OP seems to be in some sort of denial and needs to address the arrears issue rather than arguing court technicalities. Why has the rent not been paid?

Whether OP has merely court papers or an actual judgement is far more than a mere technicality. If an eviction has been granted, arguably OP would be well advised to keep any funds for an onward move rather than addressing arrears.

They will have to be addressed at some point and OP risks his credit rating and getting a judgement against him. There is also the risk of being pursued for courts costs and bailiff costs if it gets that far.
