Sold Item as Spares Or Repair on Ebay and buyer is complaining item doesn't work

Hi there,

I just sold a PC a few weeks back on ebay as spares or repair / parts not working. After the buyer receiving the PC he emailed me to tell me that the computer won't turn on. I had stated in the listing that the computer had problems with the power supply but before I sent it it was turning on ok.

Should I offer a refund or fight this dispute?

Personally I would fight this one.

If it was me, I would completely ignore the buyer, someone after some freebies and refunds if you ask me, cos they bought a broken pc with all problems listed and they don't get to return it or their money back cos it was correctly listed as broken listed under the header for broken, for spare parts only . Do nothing . Except block the person, and delete any future messages from them, and report any malicious feedback if they leave any.

If they try and open a case your side would be sold as faulty no refunds and no returns as described accurately and if they don't accept that, then speak to ebay and say it was sold as broken /for parts they have falsely opened a case and abused ebay buyer protection policy, saying not as described.

There is zero case to answer, and you done nothing wrong. Don't get into any aftersales dialogue, its up to them to look at battery terminals and powerlead issues now, they bought it to repair it or strip it of working parts .

If they go ahead and leave a negative feedback cos you refuse to give them any money back, then call ebay they can remove it if its quite unfairly left, at their discretion.
