Ok, car insurance due next month so followed the guide and these two are the cheapest,
1. Hastings.
2. Peoples choice.
Then for £30 extra
3. Swinton.
4. Lloyds bank.
5. Halifax.
Which should I go for?

Which one gives you the best cover for what you want?1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -
The cheapest!
Also, check for cashback through Quidco or Top CashBack0 -
Swiftcover undercut the renewal on the Clio by £300, new premium was just over £300.0

depends on the value of the car. If it's a cheap one - then the cheapest policy.0

You get what you pay for. Read the small print to see exactly what's included.0

Thanks, all virtually the same cover. With Hastings at the moment, looked at quotes yesterday and today the Hastings renewal came in the post, nearly £50 more than the quote from the price comparison site!0

You can't choose on name of company alone. You have to read the exclusions/excesses/benefits of each before making a decision.
Simply buying the cheapest is OK if you never have an accident. However you can't guarantee that, when you do have an accident then you will find out why they were the cheapest!!0 -
I don't know all the names you've listed - but some of them are NOT insurance companies.
Swinton for example are simply brokers who could fix you up with any company that suits your needs. So which actual insurance company is Swinton quoting you for?
You need to take everything you do into account and on occasion the cheapest will not be the cheapest in the long run.
As has been said, check the cover details.
Do you tow a trailer or caravan?
Do you drive the car abroad?
What's the windscreen excess?
Do windscreens count as claims for NCD?
Only you can answer these questions.0 -
For windscreen replacements with Swiftcover, you wouldn't be eligible for an increase in your NCD at renewal time. Looks like the cheapest isn't the best after all! I'm quite surprised!0

Ive never been with any them insurers, if I had a choice Id go for either 4 or 5 purely because despite them being banks I would feel comfortable with them.0
