Private sell / buy

Hi guys :hell:
i know i'm probably being a bit thick here, butwe are looking to put our house on the market in a couple of weeks so haven't sorted an estate agents ye.

However we have had someone that is showing interest and is looking to make a private purchase.

If we agree a price what do i do then ?

Do i still need to get a solicitor etc
Sorry for sounding thick but i have no idea :confused:

  • Yes you probably do need a solicitor or a qualified conveyancer.
    While it is possible to do it yourself, it is not advisable unless you have a pretty good idea of what to do. The Consumer Association have produced a book on the subject. You can probably get hold of it at your local library.
    Can I persuade you to buy a lovely 3 bedroom semi? Its been a wonderful family home to us, but the family have grown up and left.

    Yes just instruct your solicitor. I wouldn't recommend doing the transaction yourself as it's not the sort of transaction you want to slip up on.
