Unfortunately it is not a case for "section 75" rights :-(

In which case I fear you really are on your own.

You need to decide whether it is worth getting repaired at your expense or not.

    Sorry.

How did you pay for it then?
  • That is also explained in that Consumer Rights guide I linked to earlier.[/QUOTE]

Thank you, will study it :-( for future
  • Thank you to everyone who replied, at least I stop wasting my time on it. I am still going to take it to the engineer and see what he says. If it is a manufacturer problem I will contact Sony again........ Thank you very much for taking time to answer me :-)

If I were you I would look back at this thread tomorrow... you never know, someone else may have a different idea.

When you take it to see the independent engineer you might find it costs about the same for him to fix the problem as write a report about it (that nobody will want to read anyway, as you have no legal entity against which you can take recourse). If it is a common problem then he'll have/can get the parts easily, if it isn't it'll take longer but would also suggest you'd be frustrated proving any fault was inherent anyway.
  • What Sony camera is this?
