  • Thank you to everyone who replied, at least I stop wasting my time on it. I am still going to take it to the engineer and see what he says. If it is a manufacturer problem I will contact Sony again........ Thank you very much for taking time to answer me :-)

    If I were you I would look back at this thread tomorrow... you never know, someone else may have a different idea.

    When you take it to see the independent engineer you might find it costs about the same for him to fix the problem as write a report about it (that nobody will want to read anyway, as you have no legal entity against which you can take recourse). If it is a common problem then he'll have/can get the parts easily, if it isn't it'll take longer but would also suggest you'd be frustrated proving any fault was inherent anyway.

    you dont have any redress with Sony as the warranty expired.
