in Credit cards
Hi,
I applied and was approved for a Fluid card (MBNA) today. During the application I asked for a money transfer to be made to my bank account. The amount I requested was under the approved credit limit so no problem there. Was Just wondering if anyone knew how long it takes for the money to be credited to my bank account?
Cheers,
John

I would say about 5 days, but I'm guessing here.0

It depends on if they do the transfer, before you get the card and activate it.
Fluid, is an MBNA backed card, when I applied for my Virgin card, also backed by MBNA, I asked for a balance transfer.
I had to wait for my card and activate it. During the activation call, the guy asked about my balance transfer I had requested and when I confirmed I wanted to do it, he then processed it.
My guess, is they won't do it, until you get and activate the card, as you are still in a position where you cancel the card. If they transferred the money and you then cancelled the card, they then can't just go into your bank account and take the money back, so potentially, they are risking a person, mucking them about.
Hopefully I'm wrong, but unless someone that has done the same as you and replies to the thread, it is something you are best ringing up and asking.
Do let people know either way, as others may find the info useful.
I can say with Virgin and MBNA, any money transfers I have asked for, after getting the cards,, have been in my bank within 48 hours of my request to do a transfer.0 -
Thanks for the replies.
Had a couple of answers directly from MBNA. One fella told me that the money would be in my bank account 48 hours after I applied so he said It will be Tuesday and another said Wednesday. Guess I will just wait and see.0 -
Nowadays with faster payments the transfers go through much quicker, it's usually the next day from when the amount you've requested appears on your online account.Nearly debt free
