In-work support - Work Programme

Has anyone here had any experience of in-work support if you get a job whilst on the work programme ?
I've got about 3 months left before I end up back at the job centre, so my work programme advisor is now giving me part time jobs, about 15 - 16 hours in stuff I wouldn't really want to stay in long term. With the reasoning that its about £160 more than JSA, better than going back to the job centre in Feb and a further two years in-work support from them
Isn't in-work support from providers all about getting you to stay in the job that you're in though ? One position I've gone for from the Work Programme which I felt I couldn't really say no to is a cleaner role in a supermarket for 15 hours, obviously not something I'd want to stay in long term
My advisor did say that for two years you have access to their facilities, and can still get help from them i.e. ask any advisor in there for help. I don't see myself getting work even being in a part time role without their support with applications and interviews
I just worry having read about in-work support with other providers that if I apply for part time roles I don't really want long term, their focus will then shift to keeping me in that job rather than helping look for something else - so they can claim their much sought after golden ticket at the end ££££££

What in work support? I never heard of this when on the WP.
How can they keep you in work? If you get made redundant they can't or fired. I am not sure how they think they can keep you in a job like they cant get you a job either.
You say the advisor is giving you part time work. You mean showing you part time jobs to apply for? Where are they getting these job adverts from? We’ve had to remove your signature. Daft question, Are you sure your not being enticed onto an apprenticeship? that is what it sounds like, I've never heard of anyone other then apprentices receiving the kind of 'offered' support while in the workplace, oh well good to see why the JC isn't that bothered if it all goes on these WP
Do you really think they will help you move on once your in a p/t role? I can see they saying "we've done our job bye"
If your going for jobs you don't want, therein lies your problem, it shines through easily no doubt when someone is at an interview of a job they don't really want, no wonder you feel knocked and so it continues.. your selling yourself short, apply for what you would like to do, taken me an age to realise it but you know what, nobody has your best interests at heart more then you.0 -

Its what you get when you get a job whilst on the work programme, they support you for up to two years afterwards
My advisor has put my CV forward for a part time cleaner role at Asda, far as I know at our provider they have a person who's job is to source vacancies and then the advisors can put forward suitable candidates
When I see keep me in it what I mean is, the in-work support I fear will be focused around staying in that job for as long as possible. If I took it I'd rather it be focused on getting a full time position or a role I want (retail, admin) by providing application/interview help still which apparently my advisor said they will as they know cleaning isn't really what I want
I just fear they may be telling me this to get me to accept this cleaner job or another part time job0 -

Surprised no-one else on work programme has heard of in-work support as this is meant to be something offered once a candidate has found work. The manager herself at our place told me it is something the provider I'm with is contracted to do for anyone who gets in work. Provide facilities and help for another two years once in work
Would expect them to help me move into something else once in this p/t role at Asda as I told my advisor its not the kind of job I really want. She said she knows its not but she will help me find something else anf can still use their facilities0 -

The in work support you think they will give you is all about making you NOT leave the job
There is nothing they can do to help you 'keep' the jobWe’ve had to remove your signature. Please check the Forum Rules if you’re unsure why it’s been removed and, if still unsure, email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I think you need to ask them what the in work support is and how they think they can keep you in a job
I.e. I fear when my advisor said I can still use their facilities and get help from any of them with applications and interviews this may not be the case and they may just be telling me that to get me in the cleaning role
I have only said I will apply as they have said they know its not what I want but will help me get something else asap0 -
It is focused to you staying in the job or they don't get paid get it!
I.e. I wouldn't be taking it to stay in long term, I'd be taking it as a hope that with more help from them I would be able to get something else0
