Laptop recommendations

We are looking for a laptop for our teenage son, after hearing only bad reports about Windows 8 we would like to avoid it if possible, the main uses are for school / college work and he wants it to run minecraft so needs decent RAM and graphics.

Can anyone recommend a suitable laptop or where is best to purchase one from?

Lots of people like Windows 8, they just don't feel the need to post about it all the time! It's a great OS, quick and stable, it's just different.

Thanks for the replies, I am told integrated graphics are no good for Minecraft, so that rules out the Lenovo's.

Still need to be convinced about Windows 8..........

It depends on how much you willing to spend.

With ~£400, go for something AMD APU, which their GPU is better than intel integrated.
