ps3 controller not syncing nor resetting.

Hi, I took my ps3 controller to my friends yesterday and we got it working on his ps3, but when I came to use it on my ps3 the controller doesn't work.

I've put the usb cable in and tried pressing the ps button to turn the ps3 on but that did work. Then I tried pressing the ps button when the lights were blinking, then I tried resetting the controller and trying again but to no avail. Does anyone have any ideas, thanks.

  • Did you reset the controller via a paperclip in the pinhole?
    I believe the method is....

-make sure PS3 is on standby
    -plug controller in
-press reset button with paperclip til lights blink
-turn on ps3 using the ps button on the controller to boot the system

    Thanks for the reply,
I did what you said in that order, but the controller didn't blink when I put the paperclip in.

It sounds like it's out of battery perhaps, but I wouldn't know whether it's charging because there's no lights flashing to tell me.

Have you tried connecting the controller and then turning the PS3 on using the button on the console itself?
    Squirrel!
