Not sure if this is the right place to post, so if not, apologies.
For the past two years, my girlfriend has been paying for computer insurance, tonight she called to cancel it and found out, she has been paying for someone elses insurance.. the name, address, computer etc.. were all someone elses.. there was no information about my girlfriend at all on their systems.
Can she claim back the money she has been paying for the last two years? Since she hasn't actually had any insurance?? And how would we go about doing this?
Thanks
Robbie

Presumably she has some policy documentation confirming that her computer is covered?
If so, and there has simply been an administrative mistake, the company would almost certainly have honoured a claim (or been forced to honour a claim), if your girlfriend had made one.
The fact they the company have matched up the payments against a wrong policy doesn't mean that they wouldn't have paid out once the error was identified and corrected; so on balance I'd say she wouldn't get a refund. We need the earth for food, water, and shelter.

I'd still be writing a letter of complaint, especially if they've given her someone else's account number. If she has been paying for another, then who is that person paying for?
Sounds a right muddle...0
