Very - postal address needed for Alex Baldock

Hi All!
Am in disagreement with Very at the moment - related to direct debit not being claimed from my bank on the payment date, leading to an admin fee and interest payments being added to my account.
I've contacted their customer services department and after about 4 emails, they have agreed to waive the admin fee of £12 but I am not happy that they are refusing to cancel the interest (6 month's worth because I haven't paid in full on their Buy Now Pay Later). Its not a huge sum of money but I know that the direct debit was set up in time to meet the payment date, but Very's systems have not attempted to take it.
I may be being overly cynical here, but I can't help but feel that it is entirely in their 'interest' ('scuse the pun) to delay requesting a direct debit payment if they can then charge interest on purchases made 6 months ago. I've been told it is in their terms and conditions but I can't see it.
Anyway, just wondering if there is a postal address for the ceo because I want to raise my concerns with him - cannot believe that I am the only customer to be caught out in this way?

Would the direct debit take the money for Buy Now Pay Later? Thought it just took the minimum payment. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550

A Storck says, that's not how BNPL works.
From Very's T&Cs:To make the most of our BNPL offers, it is important that you understand how and when we charge interest on them.
If the offer does not attract interest during the deferred period the BNPL transaction will be charged to your account on the order date and will become due for payment on the first statement for which the payment due date occurs after the end of the deferred period.
In other words, Very are not going to use the direct debit to request funds from your bank account until after the 'interest free' period is over.
It is your responsibility to make a lump sum payment, before the end of the 'interest free' period, of the total amount due, to avoid the interest charges.0 -
Not only do you have to make the payment, you usually have to tell them specifically that the payment is for the BNPL item.
I made the mistake of not telling them, I just made a lump payment of the full amount 2 days before the end date. They charged me the £60 interest, i contacted them and told them I had made the payment, they manually checked and adjusted my account to remove the interest. If you find you are drinking too much give this number a call. 0845 769 75550 -
As the others have said with BNPL you are given a date that the full amount has to be cleared by, with you arranging the payment. If the deadline is missed it goes to a monthly payment plan with interest added. The deadline is usually at least a week before monthly payments start to give the payment chance to clear.0

Hi Feebie,
We're very sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the service that you have received so far and would like to help.
We can check the date that the Direct Debit was set up to take this payment as it would not take affect until the next account statement is produced. If this was set up in time then there should be no reason why a payment was not taken from your bank on the date shown on your statement.
With regards to the interest received on your account: As other posters have mentioned, the Direct Debit payment would not have taken the full amount requested to clear your Buy Now Pay Later items and would have been set up to take the minimum payment as requested on your statement.
If you would like to email us at Network@VeryHQ.co.uk then we can look into this for you and give more specific information as relating to your account.
Many Thanks
Dave
