APCOA appeal

A tricky one here, and possibly I have shot myself in the foot...
I received a PCN at Huntingdon rail station after my VALID annual season ticket detached itself from the windscreen and landed on car floor.
I wrote to APCOA advising them of same (including a scanned copy of my valid season ticket), however my appeal has rejected on grounds of failure to "ensure that (the permit) is prominently displayed on your dashboard in your vehicle (etc.)" put me in breach of the conditions of the car park.
So, I can cough up £50 within fourteen days for this aggravation to disappear. But on a matter of principle - and having paid £850 for the annual permit - I am loath to do so.
If I put the proverbial two fingers up to APCOA, I do not want to get a whole load of aggro, i.e. they rescind my annual permit or similar.
Suggestions most appreciated!

A few questions
1) is this England or Wales ?
2) are you the registered keeper?
3) did they give you a popla code with your rejection?
ThanksWhen posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.

Hi Stroma,
Thanks for the quick feedback. The answers in the same order:
1. England
2. Yes
3. Yes
Thanks.0 -
Next step then is to do a popla appeal, read the sticky threads on how to do that, you need to concentrate on
1) genuine pre-estimate of loss
2) no contract to issue invoices
3) not adequate signage

Ok, thanks. Considering your three points would say:
1. Their loss is zero - I possess a valid annual permit for the vehicle, just failed to comply with their display requirements;
2. Not sure what is meant here...?
3. Will check at the car park tomorrow! Is there an established definition of "adequate" in this context?
Thanks.0 -
Parking companies are loath to release the full contract they have with the landowner , the reason is because it will detail what they can and cannot do. So if you raise it, and they don't supply it means that it's assumed they don't have that contract. Signage they won't comply, if you raise it they must provide proof of compliance. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. You have a POPLA code in the rejection letter, yes?
'How to win at POPLA' is linked in the sticky thread called 'newbies...read this now!'.
and also read the sticky 'successful complaints' which explains in post #3 that a polite complaint to 'Passenger Focus' can help put pressure on a Train Operating Co (TOC) to cancel an unfair parking 'ticket'.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
