AMEX Platinum Everyday - Minimum spend?

Hi - just a quickie, what does the £3000 minimum spend pa mean on the details on this (MSE) website mean? Is it that you need to spend this much to get any cashback?

    From the card's T&Cs...
You must have made purchases on your Card Account of at least £3,000 within the card membership year applicable to your Card Account to be eligible to receive your Cashback.
  • Ah ok thanks, so it's 5% on the first £2000, but 0.5% from £2000 to £3000, and you have to reach £3000 to be eligable - quick sum says that even if you're only buying £3000 of petrol at 3% cb with santander the amex is better, and as it's for all spending beats it hands down. Think I'll get applying :)
  • Applied and accepted - with £10 Quidco too :j
  • Card recieved, DD set-up, cashback ahoy! Double :j :j

Yeah it's a bit misleading, the maximum cashback you will get is 3.5%, only beaten by the 4% luma card currently I think (capital one aspire world would pay out at £2000 but that's not available now)

I got my AMEX a couple of weeks ago, albeit without the £10 Quidco. Didn't know about it, am puzzled how I let that slip by.
    Must be going daft.:o
You may question anything I say. Just be polite, otherwise you go straight on to my Ignore List, which funds a good old fashioned knees-up every Xmas. Cheers;)
