HP Simplesave software

Hi,

I have just bought a new portable hard drive which came with HP Simplesave software.

Is this enough of a backup if anything goes wrong or should I do a full "proper" back up? Or maybe both?

The box doesn't really say what the Simplesave software does, if its full system or just files etc.

Any ideas?

It will automatically back up all your user files, or you can do selective backups.
It will not back up your operating system and programmes.

I would want to be sure that I know exactly what my backup software does and how to use it so that, if anything happens, I can safely restore my data without problems.

If you aren't sure how it works, and can't find any info via a web search, I'd find some software that comes with instructions!

Thanks for that link Penryn it seems quite straightforward to restore.

Obviously its the system and programs I need if anything goes wrong so I am guessing its a full restore that I need to do.
