I've trying to sort out two PC's for holiday presents, a desktop and a laptop. The more I look the more confused I get about what would be best. I think I've got it narrow down to between these today but I'd love some other opinions.

Desktop

HP Pavillion or ASUS Essentio

Will be used everyday, multiple windows often open while working, document, graphic programs and internet. No gaming but video and photo editing / creating. Will need to store lots of document files, music, photos.

Laptop

HP Pavillion 1 or HP Pavillion 2

Light general use. A bit of gaming but only simple games, nothing graphic heavy.

Thanks for looking.
