You'll have to be a bit more specific than that to get reasonable answers...
Like does it have to be a laptop, or will a tablet do?
Is there a particular operating system, such as Windows, that it needs to run?
Is there any particular system and/or software the school recommends?
Does it have to be new and the latest and greatest for children (probably!), or would a refurbished system be OK?

It would need to be a laptop, would need to do homework on it, not great with computers so can't give much info but would prefer new if possible.Thanks0

I would start by asking at their school for any recommendations, both for computer models and any software they can suggest.
Presumably you already have WiFi at home, would the children expect to take them to school, or primarily use them at home? If portability is essential, then a carry case will be required and battery life may be more important.

Argos have an ebay outlet where you can find end of range and refurbished laptops. The refurbs come with a 12 month warranty.
The specifications vary and can be older versions of processors etc but there are quite a few under £300. Ideally something with an Intel i3 processor would be good but it all comes down to how much you want to pay.

What game they are playing?
I would generally suggest you look for something with AMD APU. But that would be around £350.0 -
