FURIOUS with Halifax.....Again!

Help....

I'll keep this as brief as possible. Last year I logged a complaint with the Ombudsman against Halifax for mis-sold PPP on my loan. This has finally been resolved in my favour and I am just awaiting the new loan to be set up. Due to Halifaxs growing incompetence I decided to take my business elsewere. So in february I opened a current account with the Natwest and the wheels were put into motion to change all my details over, including standing orders and direct debits.

On the 1/4/07 I recieved a letter from the Natwest stating that all dd's had been set up and that all institutions had acknowledged this. Halifax Loans was listed as acknowledged. All were instructed that changes were to take place from 14/4/07.

On the 4/6/07 I called halifax to chase an update from the original complaint. I was told that they would not continue with refunding the PPP until I paid the missed payment!?! I asked what on earth she was talking about and she stated that on the 1/4/07 the loan repayment had been missed.... subsequent payments had gone through. I checked my statements and saw that the payment had not gone on the 1/4/7 but tghe funds were definately there.

I asked her why this was the first I had heard of it, during a totally unrelated phone call by me to them, and she siad that 2 letters had been sent and numerous phone calls made. I am on maternity leave at the moment and I have recieved no letters and I know for a fact they hadn't called.

Anyway, afetr speaking to various people in various departments I was encouraged to make a complaint regarding my current account, which I have, and that the o/s payment would just be included on my new loan (which was set up yesterday) and not to worry any further.

This morning I recieved a call from an external debt collection agency chasing the debt owed! I am livid.

Am I right to assume that my once flawless credit file will now be blemished due to these morons? What do I do?

sounds like natwest's fault here - they changed the payments on the same day right?

Natwest asked Halifax, prior to 1/4/7, to make changes effective from 14/4/7. isn't Natwests faultTherefore the missed payment on the 1/4/7 isn't Natwests fault. Also Halifax had acknowledged the change with Natwest prior to the 1/4/7
