I would send it to the dealer.
The big question aside from warranty is when selling and I come to look and wonder why, if you were penny pinching on servicing, what else didn't you bother to pay to get done ?0 -
Having read all your kind replies, and taking your advice on board, it looks like I'd be better taking it to the Dealer. Thanks to all0

Maybe you could see if your local dealer does a 2/3 year service plan, my one does, cost was around £200 for a 2 year service plan and that included 2 MOT's as well.Val0

Have a look at the online Hyundai Maintenance and servicing page and the detailed list of info they require you to present if invoking the 5 year warranty. They really don't want you out of the network!0

Is the extra two years a "Dealer Warranty" Colino?0

As the offer is from Hyundai themselves, I think this is s fully reimbursable manufacturers warranty, but look at the detail you will be asked to provide, I thought the inside leg measurement of the servicing tech a bit much.

Not exactly sure what you mean or what the difference is, but we had a door lock "actuator" (I think) replaced under warranty from Hyundai on our i30 at 4 years old
Basically under Block Exemption rules you can service outside the dealer network and the EU say your warranty is valid.
If you look at Subaru for example they give a 2 yr EU wide warranty but in the UK the third year of warranty is only valid with a full main dealer service history so even though you get it from purchase new it isn't a manufacturers warranty.
Though in practice there is no difference to the consumer as it operates like normal. I had front wishbone bushes changed under my warranty with only a fee weeks left on the third year.
I think it is a wwy to subtlely keep people inside the dealer network for as long as possible.
It needs to be viable to have a franchise to sell cars after all.
I am sure Honest John had an article saying that Hyundai used such a system for the later years in the warranty period0
