Hi kimith,
I've only ever cooked scallops as a starter.
Season the scallops with black pepper, then wrap each scallop in streaky bacon and secure with a cocKtail stick. Fry over a medium heat until the bacon is crispy. Take the scallops out of the pan, remove the sticks and keep warm. Add some butter and crushed garlic to the pan, cook for a couple of minutes then add some parsley. Pour the garlic butter over the scallops and serve with a slice of lemon, green salad and crusty bread to mop up the juices.
There are lots of delicious looking scallop recipes on the BBC Food website.

Chefs always say about keeping them simple, generally they seem to be pan friend and bacon or lemon seem to be common flavours to put with them0

Always cook them vvvv quickly or they end up tough.0

I have only cooked them once, fried them and served on a minted pea puree with sliced black pudding, was lovely, I have the recipe somewhere if you fancy it?0

There was a brilliantly simple recipe on, of all things, the new BBC "Coast" program from the Isle of Man, cooked on a portable stove on the back of a pickup truck.
Scallops and crushed clove of garlic fried in very hot olive oil. Add chopped herbs (parsley?). Add generous splash of white wine. Serve.

Another nice way to cook them is to fry some bacon lardon/cubes until crispy - remove them from the pan (drain on kitchen roll) and then fry scallops in the bacon fat for a few minutes. Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, heat some balsamic vinegar, water and a little sugar to make a dressing. Arrange scallops and bacon on bed of salad, pour over the dressing and, if available, add a dollop of hollandaise sauce - delicious and very simple. Serve with hot ciabatta bread.0
