Edit: Please ignore this post. I decided to call EDF.

Hi,

I've just taken a meter reading to send to my new supplier (EON) and I noticed that it hadn't changed from the last time I took one a few weeks ago (for my own records).

I think it would make sense to resolve this with my current supplier, rather than make the switch and contact my new suplier in a week or two, but I am worried that I won't be treated fairly by EDF as I am leaving them.

I am not looking to avoid paying for what I have used - I think I can give a good estimate - I just want to sort this out with the least amount of hassle.

Please does anyone have any experience of EDF or can offer any advice?

I have experience of electric meters stopping. The meters themselves are not really the concern of any supplier as they are not owned, fitted by them.Deep in the terms and conditions all suppliers are supposed to have sent you is something like " any faults on the meter contact us "
The type of meter I see which stops is a Sangamo Weston model which has a habit of stopping when the 3 rd and 4 th digit is 99 followed by a blank 5 th digit. why it does this I have no idea as I have met many people with this meter really hoping the blank digit reappears and they get free electric. a good thump on the side of the meter restarts it . The small white digital meters ( ampy etc ) just have habit of going blank , The suppliers are very lax in sorting this and seem quite happy to acccept estimated bills. I have not not noticed any other models which stop ,unless they ve been helped along by some hard to see pin to stop the revolving ring.
Any EDF call centre staff wont know much about stopping meters.

If they have regular reads they will be fine, I speak to both these and they are reasonable
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
