What's your best Freecycle grab?

I'm fairly new to Freecycle but am chuffed to bits as I got a just about brand new Phillips senses coffee machine in a posh looking aluminium and it had 2 brand new bags of coffee pods.

It got me wondering what your best finds are??

  • I was lucky enough to be given 6 large, empty Yankee Candle Jars (with their lids) that had aleady been cleaned of any wax and labels...PERFECT for filling with goodies ready to become gifts! I was SO happy to win them as I imagine there would have been lots of people wanting them:j:j:j

  • We needed more oxygenating plant for our fish pond because we had just restocked it after our fish all died in the heat.

I asked if anybody had some to spare on Freecycle and a nice lady gave us a whole bucketful from her pond (where it was growing like mad)

They sell it in the garden centre for £2.50 for a few strands so we were really pleased with our bucketful.

I give stuff away more than ask for it.

  • I got a Remoska! :j
  • When my mum moved house she gave away 2 working freezers, a working washing machine, furniture, .. the broken small mobility scooter got the most interest. One thing I found we couldn't even give away was a big box-type TV (everyone wants flat screens!).
  • I got a slimline dishwasher...lasted us 2 years and then I cheekily posted a wanted advert and got an even better Bosch one!

My daugher when she moved into her own place got a washing machine, freezer and microwave - none lasted more that a year but it gave her time to save up and get new.

I'm pretty new to it and don't go on regularly.

But I got a fab extending dining table which I love and chairs. The table needs work and the chairs I will change at some point but love the table.

I can't believe people get new beds with mattresses etc.......and cars!! I should go on more often.

When I have posted things on I have ended up with people messing me around a bit time wise, another time I will clarify date to be gone etc.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.
