My iphone is days away from being a year old. Yesterday I went to work with it 100% charged. A couple of hours later I checked my phone and the screen was blank and unresponsive to button presses. I assumed I must have been mistaken and it had quickly run out of battery.
When I got home, I plugged it in but still no change. I don't think it is switched off as when I try to call the number, although the phone itself doesn't ring, I hear the ring tone before going to voicemail. If it was powered off, it would have routed straight to voicemail.
So,
1. Any ideas what the issue could be?
2. I have booked a 10 min slot at a genius bar. What can possibly be done in 10 minutes?
3.Will I have to leave the phone there and if so will I be offered a temporary phone to put my sim in and tide me over?
4. Will I just be given a new phone as it's under the year ( by 12 days!)

Don't know what they will be able to do in 10 mins but I had a similar issue it was my settings. (It was set to never switch off or go into powers saving mode) Either way I sure that they will be able to sort it. I have had lots of phones and tablets and the service from Apple themselves has always been fab.Happiness, Health and Wealth in that order please!:A0

When you plugged it in at home how long did you leave it plugged in for?
What iOS are you running?1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?0 -

Thank you for the replies. It is the most up to date IOS. ( 7.0.3 if I recall?). Backed up a couple of weeks ago or so so not much to lose.
Thanks for the reassurance regarding service from Apple.
It's not until something like this that you realise how much you rely on phones. Even simple internet banking. Wanted to transfer funds and realised that a code would be sent to my phone.0 -
Ok, back to my other question: how long did you leave it plugged in for?
You see, iOS 7.0.4 came out the other day, and by default it will only install when the device is plugged in. If you only plugged it in for 10 minutes, that possibly wasn't long enough. Leave it plugged in for an hour or so. Then come back and see that it's up to.1. Have you tried to Google the answer?

Now that's interesting. I plugged it in via socket overnight. Your post has made me think and I've connected via usb to computer. itunes started up so can pick up that the phone is attached and can see it and is downloading latest podcasts.
Shall I try to update the IOS?0 -
