OS Daily Saturday 16th November 2013

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” is fine.

• Good morning everyone :)

Welcome to the world Daisy Louisa and warmest congratulations to JulieGeorgiana and family. I love the name and what a fantastic birthday gift for your DH!

Happy wedding anniversary to Mr and Mrs NAR

Molly - how are you feeling after your blood transfusion?

Dumpling - I hope your DD and GDD are starting to get over the shock

Waiting this morning for Old Faithful to be collected and hope it's early enough to then go and put the cheque in the bank and the documents and tax disc in the post, if not they will have to wait until Monday.

DD wants to see "new" car so will drive up there later and take her and GDD shopping and get a few bits for us too. No idea what's for dinner so need to go and raid the freezer.

One load of washing to do and one basket done overnight to get dry, the weather doesn't look too bad so will give the first lot a go outside.

Well wishes for all sick people and pets and hugs for those who need or just want them. Keep well, safe and warm and have a super day :)

Morning,

A bit tired today. I hate hospitals and hearing other babies crying... Add heating and plastic bed sheets... I wanna go home! LOL anyway, we will be today. DH and DD1 will be visiting us this morning, then this afternoon we hope to go home. My only plans are to have the 'ping meal' I have stashed for when I got home, and to bath the baby to see what colour her hair really is :)

Yesterday my MIL did my washing, so I don't have too much to worry about. Lucky I stocked up HM bread in the freezer too :)

MIL is coming Sunday afternoon and staying next week to help out, while DH will be at work sorting everything out for the following week off work. He's got 3 weeks over Christmas too, so I'm only by myself for 2 weeks Inbetween :)

I hope everyone has a lovely weekend x

Good morning everyone :hello:

Happy Anniversary to Mr and Mrs NAR :smileyhea:smileyhea It's mine and hubbys on the 1st December. We will have been married 14 years then but have known each other for much longer. Hope you have a brilliant day and are thoroughly spoilt xx

Thank you for thinking about my DD and GDD TTFTM, they are feeling better now. My grand daughter is staying here overnight tonight as she wants to go to church with me on Sunday. I'm hoping seeing our remaining kitten being his normal evil self will reassure her.

I'm enjoying the peace at the moment as everyone is still in bed. Hubby will make his usual cooked breakfast later on and we will have paninis for tea. I'm still totally in love with my new toy and have had paninis every day since buying it. My hubby keeps saying I'll be sick of them soon but I can't see it happening for a while as there are so many different combinations to have :D.

Well, that's all my nattering for today. Hope everyone manages to have a great weekend whatever they are doing and JulieGeorgiana has a brilliant time getting to know her new daughter :happyhear
Take care and as always gentle hugs for all who would like one.
Cheers m'dears x

Morning all,

JulieG I was always the same bursting to get home. Can we have a pic when you get a minute:D

I'm off for a haircut this morning. I know its not long since I had it done but my hair grows like grass.
I've had toothache again all night. I can't tell you how absolutely fed up I am. I've literally never been away from the dentist this year. So a fortnight ago had the temporary filling it was bliss the toothache stopped but since she put the permanent filling in its been awful again. I will have to go back, I think they are as fed up as I am
Will leave dh here and hopefully he will have cleaned up when we get back.
Off to friends tonight hopefully not too late ( would be quite happy to stay in in my pjs)
It's a dark morning here which means the dryer will be on all day. Ah hum I will pop back when I'm not in quite so much pain.
Have a good Saturday x

Morning :hello:

I fell asleep on the sofa yesterday afternoon – I never do that! I'd just eaten lunch and was sat there, couldn't quite get comfy so I stretched out, next thing I knew it was 4pm :D I had a cuppa, then a shower, then made a sandwich. I ate that then fell asleep til 10-ish, dragged myself up to bed and slept all night :D I don't usually do housework on fridays, it's mr tru's day off, the only thing we do is the shopping then we make sure the rest of the day is free. But yesterday I hoovered, tidied and did two loads of washing. Think my body went into shock or something :rotfl:

I tried to design a crocheted holly leaf, other people have done it but I wanted to design my own. Oh dear, what a mess :D The only thing remotely leafy about it was that it was green :D

I visited E the other day, she's a bit bored. She's always busy, so she made sure all things baby related were sorted – everything is ready. She was in hospital the other day, nothing serious but the doc advised that she should stop working now. She has 10 weeks til due date and nothing to do, she's trying to sit and read (you should see the piles of books) but I don't think it's in her nature to sit still :D She had some lovely presents last week at the baby shower.

Miss tru is thrilled with her new job, even more thrilled with her wages :D Other jobs have been part-time with varying hours, her work days were moved with short notice too. This is full-time, though because it's a shop and they're open seven day a week, the days off change a bit so everyone gets a regular saturday/sunday off . Yesterday she went shopping for Christmas presents on her lunch hour, was so chuffed that she could plan and budget for it.

Find Of The Week – chocolate coins that AREN'T EUROS in Morrison's :D I don't want Euros on my tree, I want pennies and 2Ps, etc. They have coloured ones but I like gold, so I bought a few bags and I just keep looking at them, can't wait to hang them up :D

Morning all,

The cold that has been lingering all week has hit me this morning, my throat is red raw and my head all stuffy, would like to take it easy but I have too much to do.

OH and I are going to fit the skirting in the bedroom, with all thats been happening the decorating has taken a back seat but I really want it finished so we will crack on with that.

I need to take dd to Asda to take some tights back and have a mooch around, will look for some xmas presents too.

WM is on with the first of three loads, its a beautiful but cold day, so will get them hung out.

Dinner tonight will be jacket spuds, dd will have pasta.

Dumpling I am so sorry about the kittie, hope you are all ok xx

Julie G congrats to you all :j

Have good days all x

Morning all !

This no drinking thing is great. I feel amazing! Had to pick oh up from town last night but don't mind too much. He'd do it for me.

Spinach and scrambled egg for breakfast and some earl Grey and blue flower tea. Delish.

Not much planned today. Walk dog and revise. Some housework maybe.

Curry for tea and I'll do a crumble too.

Enjoy your Saturday all! X
• Thank you for the well wishes x

JackieO with 3 children I'm more then happy for all the help I can get. Especially since DH is going away for 2-3 weeks in January. I'm making the most of the downtime :)

I tried to change my aviator, but it keeps twisting the photos. Once I'm home, I will see what I can do about getting a nice big photo uploaded :)
