I am annoyed

Yesterday morning at 9 am, i paid £100 into my bank account via the post office. This morning, i had an unforseen expense and went to the same post office to draw out £10.

I have just checked my internet banking. They have debited the £10 and they still havent paid in the £100. >:( >:(. In a matter of 5 minutes my debit has gone into the system, but my credit hasnt? I think someone is taking the pee somewhere. >:( >:(

I have emailed them. I wont be anywhere near my local bank till maybe the weekend. Lets see when they reply eh?

I have £70 pending to go out of my account for the shopping i spent on Saturday. I have already had to rob my family allowance as when i woke up this morning and logged in, i was overdrawn.

I think i am going to have to keep £200 safety buffer in to stop me getting overdrawn, but it really does pee me off when i could get an extra 2% interest in my savings account.

sadly judi i always keep £150 in mine as a buffer, cos its happened so may times. paying cash in takes up to 48 hours to appear. drives me mad.

It seems that money paid out is done electronically - so its faster. Money paid in is done manually - so it takes a bit longer. What a load of hogwash!!!

I did have a email from the bank, but had more joy from seeing the Postmaster at my local Post Office.

The money turned up in my account an hour ago..... A lesson to learn - keep a bigger buffer in my account than i have done in the past, or dont break the pc so that hubby has to pay me in cash.

totally agree, Judi...i paid a cheque in last friday and it still hasn't cleared. very annoying as i am literally down to the line this month having got those ryanair flights! think the buffer may be the only way to go. thankfully some extremely kind (anonymous!) person shoved £60 cash through my letterbox the other day :D so i can survive!!!
