blancmange -strange way to eat it?

  • I always make it set. I have never heard of eating it like custard, do you just make it the same and eat hot before it sets? I will have to try that I bet its nice.

    Yeah heat until it's thick like Custard straight into a bowl, I grate shortbread on top and eat.

    Ooh milk jelly in my family is made 2 ways:

    Nans way melt jelly cubes with just enough hot water the top up with milk instead of cold water set as normal.

    Moms way melt jelly cubes top up with half water and half milk stir gently to get marble effect and set as normal.
  • We serve it cold with jam on top!

    I have jam with hot semolina.

    Sounds interesting! I am allergic to dairy and I suspect this would not work very well with soya milk.

    Maybe not. I'm lactose intolerant but drink goats milk as I find soya doesn't always work and I prefer the taste.
