Valued opinions/ disappearing points

Hi to you all. I have noticed that some of my Valued Opinions points has been disappearing from my participating history and points have been taken from my balance. I have been doing their surveys and slowly building up towards the £10 voucher but it still at £5. Looks like they either adding the points to my balance and then quietly taken them off or not adding them at all.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this with Valued Opinions?

Sometimes there is a delay before VO Credit you with the points. They will credit you in the end. I did a music survey which had thirty pounds hanging off it. It got credited a month later. My experience is they will credit but maybe a delay.

Some surveys close and then credit you days or even several months later. I track my earnings on a spreadsheet and I've never had points come back off my earnings other than those redeemed.

  • I've never had any points disappear either, but they are maddeningly slow at crediting you for any survey that's a bit out of the ordinary (eg the ones where you can get 'up to £3' depending on your answers). Drives me mad when I'm just 50p off being able to claim a reward and it then takes them over a month to credit me for something!

Why not keep a record, either in a spreadsheet or on paper, to record the surveys you do, when points are added etc.

That way, if points are not added, or added then taken away you will have all the details to ask them what is happening.

Sadly, I am having the same problem. I have emailed them a few times but no luck, All they do is send the generic email that someone will get back to me. Also, for some surveys it states 'survey started' although I have finished every survey they send to me. So I believe this way they save their pennies by not giving me my points .
  • Strangely enough, after making my last post to this thread, I did notice my balance on VO go down - only by 25 points, but it was noticeable as I was only 50p away from the £10 target and that suddenly became 75p. Sadly, I don't think it is worth emailing them, because I have done so in the past when I've had error messages right at the end of surveys, and they just send out the generic reply that says if you've done a whole survey, they will eventually notice and add it on.

One thing I did notice last week - I completed a survey and the very last page didn't work and the survey didn't appear on my list. This has happened with me before on VO and I've just emailed them as above, but this time I waited a day and then tried again via the original email invitation. When I clicked on the link from the email, it took me to a page that said I'd completed parts of the survey, and it then let me click to complete the survey and I got paid. Worth remembering if you ever get the VO last page glitch, as I do sometimes with their surveys.

This happens to me a lot of times. I am sick and tired of VO. Today I checked my account and my points were also lowered by 75 points . I could not have noticed them if I was near the £10 limit but since I had £1.50 in there I was furious to see only £0.75 now showing in my account.

Oh and I thought it was me mistaking something! I did a survey and it showed me I got the 0.75 but it's pending credit (though the bar showed it) and a day later it was gone! And now it's not even showing in my history as a pending credit :(

  • This happens when they find out that you have not completed the survey honestly or there is some mismatch of data in your profile and what you have entered in the survey !
  • The only mismatch for me would be a change in employment type. I did wonder how the survey sites cope with this, as it must happen a lot, but I haven't had any payment discrepancies with any other sites, just this very small loss of points on one survey on VO. Seems more likely that it is some kind of glitch on their side.
