It resembles a cash register. Can anyone tell me why it does it?

What apps have you installed recently. When does it make the sound, are you using a specific app? Try uninstalling the app then reinstalling it -does it still happen? Otherwise give us a more accurate description of when the sound appears, how long it lasts, etc.
As a another, maybe a bit off base suggestion, go to the Google Store and download the Free Malwarebytes app. After it's installed run a scan and see if it identifies any malware.0 -

No I have never downloaded games. I wouldn't know where to start! lol
I have had the phone about 3 months and it started making this noise a week ago.
