Cat tummy problems - what food?

Hi all,
My cat Cleo is 10 and she has always had a ticky tummy ever since we got her in 2009.
Of course at first we put it down to her being worked up due to her moving house etc.
However, 4 years on and we are still having trouble with her.
She is a lovely cat and her weight has gone up to 7.1kg and is now back down to a healthy 5kg.
She is currently on the Hills Z/D dry food as suggested by out vet in the event that her diarrhoea is being caused by a food allergy.
At the moment and for the last 4-6 weeks she has started trying to force herself to go after she has already been on her litter and I think that maybe some fibre in her diet will help her stools to be solid and reduce the wind etc.
I have seen that Hills also do a W/D food and was wondering if anyone has used that and what are your opinions.
I will phone the vet in the morning to discuss with him but it's always useful to get input from others.
The vet has previously diagnosed her with IBD and she was on prednisone and something else for a short while but neither mae any difference really.
Thanks.

Hiya,
My cat was diagnosed with IBD last year after many months (possibly over a year) of diarrhoea. It was so bad, she'd pass a little bit of blood everytime! We tried hills i/d with her and it worked quite well, but the moment she came off of the food she'd start up again. What we found to be the best thing for her is a raw diet. We started feeding her Natural instinct and found ourselves with a lively, happy cat and no more litterbox nightmares. She went from pooing 3+times a day to once every day or so and it doesn't smell. It takes some cats a while to transition to the raw stuff, but it's well worth it. If you aren't keen on the raw diet (and it's not something that vets advocate) then you could give the i/d a try.
I've also had her on some plain boiled chicken on occasion (when I'm out of raw), although I only do that for a day or two because it's not really nutritionally sufficient. I've also heard that rabbit is especially good for chronic cases, although again, I think that was in raw form. Hope that's somewhat helpful!
Did you give the vet a call? How did it go?0
