PRAISE for DPD couriers, Newbury depot

Have ordered a couple of products online recently and one of the items came today via DPD, from their Newbury depot. They sent texts and emails at every stage to update me, and gave me a one hour timeslot, and the name of the driver.

When the driver arrived (three minutes into the timeslot) he was very polite and cheery. A pleasing experience - makes a change from the couriers who give you no update regarding the whereabouts of your parcel, and then when they arrive are miserable as sin and practically throw the parcel at you.

Must agree, buy often from Amazon prime and DPD are the usual courier, love the tracking facility.

DPD are head and shoulders above the other large courier companies.

Completely agree - it's a bit of a shock if I get a notification from anyone else and the time is from 7.00am to 9pm!!!! DPD are excellent - and you can text back and change the day if the time they give you doesn't suit.

I like the fact you can go online and track your actual driver as he potters around the local area delivering parcels.

It's very good service.

However as always if you search DPD on this site people have negative experiences and say they are sh*te

They are by far and away the best delivery service I've used. I've used them both for delivering to me and also for sending the item back (twice) when it didn't work. Repeated that process several times and on all occasions DPD kept me updated and arrived within the time they said they would. I couldn't fault them so far.

I think many other courier companies could learn a thing or two from DPD!

I managed to get the live tracking to work this week, was great I just strolled downstairs when I saw the driver was at delivery no.76 (I was 77)
The pet website I use has DPD deliver their heavy items, and it's free under super saver delivery (ordered weekend delivered Weds so not a long wait at all behind paying customers).
I switched to them after another raised their free delivery spend, they come from Germany and are sent Parcelforce 24.
No more expensive either.

Had a delivery yesterday due between 1315hr and 1415hr later updated to 1330hr. Waiting for doorbell to ring and so disappointed as posted through door after all my tracking When email arrived advising item delivered it clearly stayed posted. What a first class service.
