Help with lowell

A default from Lloyd's was registered against my equifax file in 2008, the debt was then passed to Lowell. I want to clear the account so I then set up a payment plan. On doing this Lowell put the default in there name on equifax, this I understand is fine. But they also registered it on my experian account where no default was ever registered, is it correct that they can do this?

Comments

  • Yes, you defaulted the debt and they have told the CRAs they report to this. Lloyd's must not have reported the default to Experian themselves.
  • Damn it lol. Would it still drop off my report in 6 years even though I am paying it?
  • Yes. Drops off 6 years from default date, paid or not.

  • If the default drops off after 6 years how will the payments show on my record.

6 Years after the default the whole record of the account drops off.

  • There won't be ANY record! The record of default and ALL account information related to it is removed permanently whether it is paid or not! However, you should bear in mind a company can go for a CCJ if the debt is not statute barred and this will then be on your record for 6 years!
