I'm currently on jsa looming for work, but found work which is only 1 to 2 days a week maximum. I was told i can still claim jsa without having to go in and sign on.. How do i go about changing the way i claim and what to i have to do exactly. Also how much can you earn under those 16 hours in order to qualify for the claim?

You don't have to change anything, you still claim JSA. You just have to complete a form stating how many hours you worked each week (must be under 16hrs) and what you earned, and supply wage slips. I had to fill one of these in every time I signed on.
Anything you earn, apart from £5, will be deducted from your JSA.

Anything you earn apart from £5 will be deducted from your jsa?? What do you mean??
Also im sure i was told that you dont have to go into the job centre every 2 weeks to sign anything??
And im a subcontractor so i dont have wageslips stating hours, just the amount i earn gets written on a remittence slip from the company im sub contracting to....0 -
you think you can earn what you want and still get JSA as long as you work under 16 hours a week?
as a single, non disabled person, you can earn £5 a week before it is deducted from JSA penny for penny.
once you work over 16 hours you can no longer sign for JSA.
you have to sihgn as normal, and declare the hurs you have worked.
the job centre wont be impressed with a wage slip that only shows income, they also want to know the hours worked0 -

As has been said, the amount will be deducted from your JSA. you could do 12 hours at minimum wage and you would still receive £1 or £2 JSA, 13 hours at minimum wage will wipe out your payment altogether but you can still sign on0 -
basically you are working 16 hours for 5 pound, so keep taking as many extra hours you can get, it works out better for you.
and yes every 2 weeks you still have to sign on what you have done to look for work and they will give you forms to fill in, which are for how many hours you work per daymortui non mordent0 -
And what you get for signing on is your national insurance contribution exempted so that's why people do it.0
