Parking fine- can i appeal ?

I am planning to protest against a parking fine that wasissued to me when I visited Slough on Monday November 11, 2013. I needed tovisit HSBC Bank at the High Street. When I got to Slough, I paid my parkingticket via a nearby ticket machine. When I got to the bank during my appointment,I realized I had forgotten to place the paid ticket on the screen of my car soI immediately rushed back to place the ticket on the car. When I got to thecar, I realized I had been issued with a penalty for parking without a paidticket, which is not quite the case.

Do i have a chance ?

I actuallyinserted GBP 2.50 (instead of GBP 1.87)and the machine did not give any change.

I've never heard of a machine which would ask for £1.87, and most (if not all) do not give change.

Are you sure about your facts?
    1. Have you tried to Google the answer?
    2. If you were in the other person's shoes, how would you react?
    3. Do you want a quick answer or better understanding?

Ideally, post this in the Parking forum.

Pure guesswork but I imagine the offence is failure to display a parking ticket, otherwise you could just ask a motorist leaving their bay for their old ticket, and argue to the authorities you had paid for it but forgot to display it.

I dont think you will be able to.

When you pay at the machine it normally states that failure to display the ticket will result in a fine etc.

Their argument would be how can prove you did not get hold of the ticket after the fine was given. Before you say it has a time stamp on it they could still say you borrowed someone elses.

    Hi there

What you need to do is find out the email or the parking fines department within the council. Photocopy the ticket and attach it to an email and state the ticket must have fallen on the floor.

The ticket you got will have a time on it and so will the parking fine.

I have done this previous, but i waited to get a ticket from someone else as i had forgot to get one from the machine. The said they would cancel the fine, PROBLEM SOLVED.

    hope this helps

Just checking, do you mean that you never bought one in the first place, lied about having one, then falsely presented someone else's ticket as your own?

I have done the same. It tends to only work once though. They have long memories.
