Car Renewal Premiums

 My husband has just had his car insurance renewal from MoreThan and as last year on receiving his renewal I fed in his details on the More Than site and the premium I was quoted was £30.00 cheaper than that of the one sent through the post. The same thing happened last year. Is this really looking after their existing customers surely they should supply the best possible price on renewal. I now have to cancel the existing policy and take out a new one with exactly the same details in order to save £30.00 this must cost them extra in administration costs! The moral don't just accept car insurance renewals even from the same company who should have your best interests at heart.

phone them up and they should be able to override it and discount the £30 in your direct debits.....

also if you cancel as a new customer they are offering
    Free Breakdown cover

will not give you it over phone on renewal . ive tried

That must be their 15% discount for buying online.

Are we seeing that this doesn't apply when your renewal comes through since you didn't buy the renewal online?

    Looks like it :(
  • I find most of the companied do the same. But then I rarely accept the renewal as I find better deal elsewhere. Insurance companies do not reward loyalty so why stay loyal, shop around

More Than are c**p for doing this.

We started a new policy for Mrs MMD (with More Than both before and after renewal) rather than renewing because the policy was around £30 cheaper.

As you say, there's no way that this is efficient for them.
