Hi everyone, I've got a lot of stuff in my house that I want rid of, some of it books, some old videos, some cds and other random stuff. What would you reccommend as the best route to decluttering and making some cash? I've ebayed before but never had a car boot sale.

I normally Ebay the decent stuff and carboot the tat that wont fetch much on Ebay that aint worth the hassle, then the stuff that i didnt sell on Ebay that didnt attract no bids if it is half decent i take to the charity shop straight after the bootsale, if it is tat i bin it at the bootsale.0

Videos and books I would car boot - clothes and CD's I would try ebay first - if it doesn't go then car boot it. Axctually you could also try amazon for the books and CDs aswell. I am selling loads on ebay at the mo and have given myself a deadline til the end of July to get rid. Afetr that I am gonna do a car boot to get rid of the rest!Lydia

Just think how much stuff you actually have to carboot. You have to pay for the pitch and get up early (usually on a sunday) to stand in a field not knowing what the weather will be like.
Ebay can be done at home in your own time. As has been said, Amazon is great for books - much better than eBay and you don't pay fees until the item sells.0 -
Like others have said I'd try amazon for my decent books and CDs and ebay for any other decent item, then carboot the rest. I made £100 at my last carboot selling tat!! And actually, its good fun once in a while and nice having the cash in your hand!£2019 in 2019 #44 - 864.06/20190

I will probably get told off for this now, as I don't want to be seen as advertising, but have you tried ebid? (whispers very quietly-there are no listing fees, even if you do sell, only FVF's), car boot is also a good idea.0

it`s only £7.50 - £10.00 to do a boot sale if you have hundreds of items your not guaranteed to sell on ebay or amazon think of the fees there are other auction sites which are worth a try to cut down on the fees 100 items listed on ebay will cost £15.00 then any sales your fvf`s and many of peeps want to pay by paypal is it worth your while thats what you need to think cash in hand is always nicer
It's £20 overe here And I don't have access to a car to boot sale my things either *waah!*Debt free since 2014 - now saving for a mortgage deposit :heart2:
This time I'm on top of it! We live and learn :coffee:0 -
Amazon has no listing fees, so you won't end up with loads of fees for unsold items, but their fees for sold items are a bit hefty. Ebay is often good for collectables and designer or vintage clothes. Car boot sales are best for videos (unless rare) bog-standard bric-a-brac and generally stuff whose value is less than it would cost to post.0
