Oil Gauge Query

Good Morning All,
Obviously we all know when our oil tanks are getting low but are there any oil gauges available that can advise when a tank needs to be filled before the boiler becomes airlocked?
I spoke to a boiler repair person and he advised that many available on the market were not very accurate.
Thanks

Does there have to be a small amount of oil left in the tank before refills?0

Lol my hubby always measures with a bamboo cane because he doesn't completely trust the little plug in meter.0

Always found the external clear plastic tube reliable, as long as you press the button to find the correct level.0
