Homebargains currently have lots of sweets in for about 8p -10p each like haribo jelly bars, Disney character sweets/ spiderman/ hello kitty (perhaps not what your bro would appreciate tho! depends on his sense of humour). The works were selling American sweets (such as m&ms, and skittles in types that are not normally sold over here), not sure if they've still got them in though, but might be worth a try? Are there any sweets that you always used to have when you were younger? Ones that might spark a fond memory? Anyway, it sounds lovely and I'm sure he'll appreciate it0

choc "coins" wrapped in gold foil - most supermarkets sell small sacks of them.
Cadbury's Freddo Frogs - tiny chocolate amphibians, about 15 p each.
I've bought my brother (age 50 !) a pile of those coconut mushrooms, his childhood favourite, I've got a nice gift box to put them in and I think he'll keep it on his office desk for when he needs that sugar hit .
I like giving and receiving presents like this.0
