Increases on student credit cards?

Hey!

Just wanted to know if anyone's been successful in getting a credit limit increase on their student credit cards?

I currently have one with a £500 limit. I would at least like £1000 since I use my card a lot for things like hotel and ticket bookings. It's always paid off in full every month and I have a great history with my bank.

On a normal credit card, I guess the above information would usually get me a increase, however, I'm not sure how student cards work. Are they all set at £500 as their starting limit? Do any of them budge and agree to give you a slightly higher limit based on good conduct of the account?

Thanks.

I had a substantial increase on a student credit card limit before, however I do have a reasonably well paid job.

  • Great, thanks guys.

I work 16 hours per week plus overtime during summer and Christmas. I guess that puts me in a somewhat better position. Cheers! :)
  • If one branch of your banks says no then remember you can try others. I remember i went to one bank they said no, then went back to another branch in a different town few weeks later and they said yes.

Oh, wow. Didn't think that was possible at all. That's really handy to know. Thanks for the tip. ;););)
