My Valliant combi boiler has stopped heating water for the radiatar which it did couple of days ago. It does heat up the water for the tap though.
Also I plan to get my boiler serviced as well any recommendation and cost I should expect.

If it's just one radiator, then it's not an issue with your boiler, but with the rad or valve/TRV.
Typical boiler service £70-90 depending on region. No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
I just bleed my radiator and reset and it works. No clue why. But I better get it serviced and maybe get the filter fitted! Not sure whats the cost of filter.0

No clue why? If there is air in the rad, then water can't flow around it-so no heat. You really should bleed all the rads at the start of the CH season. What sort of filter are you talking about?
Filtration has nothing to do with bleeding the rads.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

It is getting intermittent. I've booked a engineer for service which I always looking for but probably bad timing. One of my friend suggested to get a filter fitted on ongoing clean-up through the system but sounds like I may not need one.0 -
A boiler service (if that's what you've booked) will not cure a problem on a single rad-the RGI will not even inspect the rads or TRV's.No free lunch, and no free laptop0

The battery in the remote thermostat was dying and so the boiler heating system was intermittent.
Got it serviced by a registered engineer and all was working fine until this morning same behaviour again, heating system is intermittent.
Called up the engineer an he said he wouldn't understand why this temperamental behaviour. He suggested to disconnect the thermostat control and see it has removes the problem. He did say boiler is in good condition.
I have no clue what going on. Boiler is 2 years old but warranty has expired. I need to get this fixed as my kids are really cold.....0 -
A Vaillant should have more than a two year warranty-which model?
You can easily check if the 'stat is calling for heat: turn it up full with the timer on and you should hear the boiler fire up within seconds.
Wired or wireless 'stat, make and model? No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -
Hi Macman
It's a Valliant ecoTECH pro 24 boiler and the thermostat is wireless.0 -
did you put new batts in the room stat & not re-chargable ones ? do you keep moving it about or is it fixed to the wall ?I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
