Lining concrete garage

Hi All,

Want to line the rear wall of my concrete sectional garage with ply to fix plug sockets and maybe some shelfs etc too.

I was thinking eithier using lining clips and batten or just simply using a building adhesive such as grip fill down each concrete stud.

Timber batten - will lose width of batten in garage (no big shakes). Would keep ply away from concrete battens

Adhsive - Less materials, quicker, large surface area to bond. Would it transfer damp to the ply? I thought if I use marine ply it will be fine?

Also what thickness of ply would be up to hanging stuff from 9mm?

Insulating behind it is not really beneficial as its only one small wall.

Thanks

I'd go down the batten route for two reasons - it will help eliminate damp between the board and the wall. Secondly, whilst adhesives are strong, if you're going to hang shelves on it, I'm not sure the board would stay stuck to the wall. Garage shelves seem to have a habit of filling up rather rapidly.

And I'd personally go for 18mm, again, simply for strength.
