Led lights... A saving?
Just bought my first 2 led lights. The real reason was that they are for uncommon fitting for my cooker hood. Usual bulbs would blow and it would take me a while to re-order they were less easy to find, so thought I would buy led lights instead. More expensive these are 3 times the cost but should last much longer. Anyone considered replacing their house with these... Does it save you money?

Yes - should recoup the extra cost of the bulbs in 1 to 2 years. Bulbs should last 10 years plus with average usage.0

I've changed my 10 x 50watt halogens in the kitchen with 10 x 4 watts, saving 460 watts per hour, So I reckon that at 12p a unit I'm saving 5.5p an hour so using the lights for just one hour a day for 365 days in a year is saving me £20 a year.
They are just as bright and in fact give a better spread of light than the halogens.Never under estimate the power of stupid people in large numbers0
