Registered Childminders

Can anyone tell me how i would go about finding a registered childminder for my 8 yr old son for the summer hols? have never used one before!

depends where you live, i used to live in london, where it was £5.00 an hour,or £45 a day!! Yet here in the midlands it's as low as £2.50 a hour!! If you are getting working tax credit, they will pay 80% of your costs.

If you take your child to school, you get to see the childminders, at my school, there's at least one, I would never use!! I am lucky, right next door to my school, is a nursery, which takes children up to 12 years old.

just looked on that surestart website and was suprised to find about 7 childminders in my village!!! do i need to be registered with them before i claim my tax credits?
