Bosch Classixx Dishwasher - lights on but no-one's home!

Our Bosch Classixx dishwasher is a touch over 2 years old, with light use (only 2 of us). The last few times it's washed, the dishes haven't seemed that clean, and yesterday it stopped part way through a cycle and hasn't worked since. Some water was left in the bottom.
Before anyone asks, I've cleaned the filters (pretty clean already), emptied the waste pipe, rotated the pump impellers which turn freely and are in mint condition, disconnected the water supply for 30 mins and even tapped the water valve thing (read somewhere that it helps to 'reset it' if it's been triggered, and left power off for 30 mins. Basically I've tried everything which googling tells me to do!
It's a weird one - when switched on it makes the normal 'gurgle' noise from the pump. All lights are working as normal.
Only difference is when the door is closed, nothing actually happens. Could it be a microswitch for the door? No idea how/where to check. Ideally, if I could override it, I could test it...

My Bosch dishwasher had similar symptoms......although it was nearly 10 years old.
Have a look at the MAIN motor mine was sized......at 165.00 it was not worth replacing.
P.S.
Is yours still under warranty ???
Some Bosch dishwashers had a 5 year warranty if I remember.0 -

Looks like it's a 2 year, although will phone tomorrow to 100% confirm. Not a simple fix, then?:mad:0 -
Probably obvious, but did you check that nothing is obstructing the moving parts on the inside?0

Check the inlet and drain hoses aren't blocked or kinked. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

Thanks for the above suggestions. Ended up calling out the local tech bloke and he plugged in a replacement main circuit board - it worked perfectly. Basically going to need a load of money throwing at it - they're going to give us a quote. Looking back at our paperwork, we bought it just over 2 years ago, but stored it (indoors) for about 6 months until the kitchen was finished. Therefore it's only had about 18 months use, which just isn't good enough. Needless to say, I'm going to contact Bosch, moan and ask for them to replace the part themselves. Nothing to lose in my eyes... here's hoping!0

I have had a Milel dishwasher for over 20 years and only started going wrong a month ago.It was bearings and my husband fixed it for £6
But if it was unrepairable i would have bought a Bosch as thought they was reliable .0 -
Wow, long time no update. Until now. After LOTS of pushing and negotiating (until the point where my OH told me to give it a rest, but I persevered
) Bosch have given us a payment to fully cover the repair, plus a little extra for the inconvenience. Pleased with the outcome, although hoping this dishwasher isn't a Friday machine, with other service parts due to go pop when it's back in service again.
Anyway, before I finally give the go ahead for the local specialist to come and fix it, I wondered if anyone knew if it's possible to buy Bosch parts direct? Not sure where I'd begin with this, but I know exactly which part I want and I reckon it's pretty much plug and play - I'm not scared of doing the job myself.
Anyone got any pointers? Thanks in advance!
Edit - I've searched online and the only companies I can find don't sell motherboards... Looks like they sell pumps etc, but not the electronics side of things. Surely there are companies out there?0 -
I searched for bosch pcb dishwasher on fleabay and saw several outlets who sell PCBs as genuine Bosch parts. You will need to know the part number though.
Glad Bosch did the right thing, without resort to county court proceedings against your retailer. 2 years from purchase and a gently used machine is not reasonable use, and as they have to tell you, the warranty does not limit your statutory rights.0 -
Final update time!
Ended up using the local plumbing/electric machine repair company to fix the dishwasher by replacing the control module as I couldn't source the part myself. Plus their work is warranted.
Works great now and, touch wood, will continue to do so for a number of years!
Thanks for all the help on this thread.0
