With companies putting up their charges for your home phone, I was wondering why they cannot use the system that has been introduced in the Civil Service, where it is all done over the internet. Would that be possible?

There are plenty of residential VoIP services, e.g. Sipgate. You'd have to shop around to find the best deal for your requirements

with prices going up with companies like Virgin and Sky, I hope they realise that people will just use their mobiles.
