hi I have a ford focus zetec 1.6 that keeps cutting out as I am breaking and then the speedo doesnt register for a while before returning to normal. These cut outs can be a handful of times in one journey to nothing for a week or so. The garage it has been to on 2 occasions can't find any faults...... Any clues?!
Thanks

what exactly cuts out? just the speedo or everything? radio off, lights off etc?
if everything goes it could be a dodgy connection on the battery,0 -

The lights stay on...... Sometimes when breaking the battery light comes on for a second and so it will cut out others the light can come on then go off and the car is ok. Garage have checked the battery connections....Living in a superhero induced haze :A:A

They continue to work when the speedo doesn't register.....Living in a superhero induced haze :A:A

Hmm, thank you. If they had also stopped I would have suggested a problem within the dashboard - dry joints to be precise.
Although this is now a reduced possibility, it is still there. Next time it happens try giving the dash a bash and see if it comes back to life.0 -
